Contemporary Charles Eames Designer Office Desks

Charles Eames was one of the most influential architects and furniture designers of the 20th Century. Born in America at the turn of the century, he soon became interested in specialist architecture and went to college to study it before forming his own practice in 1930 with two business partners.

Eames met his second wife Ray in 1941 and they went on to forge both a successful relationship and business partnership. By the 1950's they moved their attention to designer furniture and in 1956 created the classic Charles Eames Lounge chair which is still highly popular today and in 1968 he created the Eames Chaise.

Eames passed away in 1978 but his style of furniture remains highly popular particularly with retro furniture becoming so influential.
